Reason Enough to Open the Bubbly
In today’s City AM, the free newspaper for the business and banking community in London, there was an excellent article on the beneficial health effects of champagne, and other things.
Research at the University of Reading shows that champagne can lower blood pressure and reduce the chance of heart attacks and strokes. Apparently “a daily moderate consumption of champagne may improve vascular performance”. Many will know that red wine is good for you – and champagne is too because red grapes are often used to produce champagne (especially pinot noir).
The City AM article goes on to list other enjoyable things that are good for us – sex (once or twice a week helps protect you against colds), chocolate (those who eat 3 times a month live a year longer than those who eat none) and beer (one beer a day reduces the risk of stroke by 20 per cent).
Elsewhere, for men looking to cut their cancer risk, type “Good News” into Google and look for the BBC story…

RE the “good news” link. the benificial part is tempered by the knowledge that if you have to resort to pictorial stimulation you will go blind. So if your imagination isn’t up to scratch be careful!
